It Looks Like She’s Walking Her Child to School, But If You Look More Closely at the Photo, You’ll Notice That…

Time is precious, and this story is living proof of that. The sacrifices mothers make for their children are far too easily overlooked.

Although women don’t usually complain about these hardships and instead choose to be grateful that they can give their children the very best, every now and then, they should remember to think about themselves too.

While walking her child to school, this woman had a realization that she wanted to share with every other mother.

As she walked beside her son, she was thinking about everything she still had to do for her children that day: prepare dinner, pick them up from school, convince them to brush their teeth before bed, and so much more.

Her mind had become accustomed to thinking only about her children’s well-being and everything they needed.

But when she got home, she put all her chores aside and wrote this emotional letter, hoping it would reach as many mothers as possible and help them realize what truly matters in life.

The title is simple but meaningful: “The Last Time.”

We’ll let you read her heartfelt words, because anything else would be unnecessary.

“From the moment you hold your child in your arms for the first time, you will never be the same person again.

You may sometimes miss the days when you had all the freedom and time in the world to do whatever you wanted, when you didn’t yet know what it meant to be truly exhausted, and when every day felt different.

Now, everything has changed.

You change your child’s diapers and hear them cry. The arguments and demands never seem to stop, and everything can feel like an endless cycle.

But remember: there is a last time for everything.

One day, you will feed your child for the last time. One day, after an exhausting day, they will fall asleep in your arms for the last time.

There will be a last time you hold them while they sleep. A last time you wash their hair or hold their hand while walking down the street.

After that, they will never need you in quite the same way again. They will no longer wake you in the middle of the night asking for a hug.

Right now, you sing songs to them and play together, but one day that will stop too.

When you take them to school, you kiss them goodbye—but perhaps tomorrow they’ll ask you not to do that anymore.

One night, you will read them a bedtime story for the last time. You will wipe their face for the last time.

They will jump into your arms for the last time.

You will never know when you are doing something for the last time. You will only realize it after that moment has already passed. And even then, it may take some time to fully understand what has happened.

So while you are doing all these things for your child, cherish them, because they will not last forever.

Once this chapter of your life has passed, you may realize that you would give anything just to experience those moments one more time.”
